Rockpool Chenin Blanc

The Chenin Blanc grapes are sourced from a 34-year-old bush vine vineyard making it roots in unique shale soil. The terroir and vineyard lie very close to my heart and located in Stellenbosch.

For the first time, I experimented with Russian oak. This Russian oak adds a distinct and authentic character to the wine.  I believe that this beautiful, full-bodied Chenin Blanc with its crisp acidity has great aging potential.  A food driven wine to be enjoyed with all your favourite dishes.

TASTE

Rich layered Chenin Blanc with concentrated flavours of ripe tropical fruit is leaping from the glass with hints of white pear. This full-bodied Chenin Blanc was fermented with specially selected Russian oak. The Russian oak really support the wine beautifully and add a unique sweet sensation to the wine. On the palate the wine shows good structure and balance with layers of fruit expressions. The Russian oak adds to long lingering aftertaste. This will also be a Chenin that will age very well.
